When cookouts abound, it can be hard to stick to a plant-based diet. This year, we’re making it fun, fresh, and easy to celebrate the Fourth of July vegan-style. After all, there’s no better time to enjoy garden-fresh produce than at its peak!
Our vegan recipes aren’t scary. In fact, they are just as filling and delicious as their counterparts that contain animal products. Read on to start planning your plant-based Independence Day cookout.
TO DRINK
It’s the Fourth of July, so a patriotic beverage is definitely in order. Stay on-trend during the summer of spritz with our red white and blueberry spritz. It’s the perfect way to stay on theme and on-trend, especially for those who aren’t big fans of Aperol.
SALADS & APPS
To kick things off, you’ll definitely want a good salad. Our grilled romaine leaves are the best base for any salad you could possibly dream of. And since no cookout is complete without a fruit salad, we cannot recommend this minty one enough.
If you want to set something out for your guests, try our favorite cilantro-free guacamole or herby hummus with carrots.
MAIN COURSES
These days, you don’t need to have burgers and dogs on the grill to make a cookout successful. In fact, some of our favorite plant-based options are even better than the barbecue classics (really!).
Plant-based will enjoy our cauliflower tacos, which have a delightful, herby gremolata that keeps things interesting. If you’re feeling more ambitious, throw some eggplants on the grill and get creative. Our current favorite? This incredible Beefsteak tomato burger is a worthy substitute for the real deal.
SIDES
Who needs cornbread when you have these delicious rosemary biscuits? Or dairy-laden pasta salad when you have this quinoa option?
SWEET TREATS
You can still indulge and stay cool without dairy. The answer: homemade popsicles! Try our favorite strawberry mint ones, or opt for a little something different with a lavender lemon recipe. If you want to keep the party going, you can even get a little boozy with these incredible pineapple jalapeno popsicles, kicked up a notch with tequila.
