Nothing says summer like a creamy, refreshing, and healthy smoothie bowl. In case you have been living under a rock for the past decade, a smoothie bowl is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a smoothie in a bowl.

Smoothie bowls have been all the rage for the past few years, and they aren’t going anywhere. Typically, these bountiful bowls consist of a smoothie of your choice, topped with fresh fruits, granola, nut, or seeds, and maybe a dollop of peanut or almond butter on top to tie it all together. Hop on the bandwagon for a sweet, refreshing, and filling meal or snack with our favorite smoothie bowl recipes below!

Classic Acai Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 7 oz. frozen açaí puree
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • Almond milk or milk of choice
  • Top with sliced fruit, granola, and a drizzle of honey or agave

Directions:

  1. Blend together açaí, banana, blueberries, strawberries, and almond milk until desired consistency.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and top with desired toppings.

Green Goddess Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mangoes
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • Large handful of spinach
  • Almond milk or milk of choice
  • Top with sliced fruit, granola, and a drizzle of honey or agave

Directions:

  1. Blend together banana, mangoes, pineapples, spinach, and almond milk until desired consistency.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and top with desired toppings.

Chocolate Nice-Cream Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3 dates, chopped
  • 2 TBSP of cacao powder
  • 2 TBSP of peanut butter
  • Almond milk or milk of choice
  • Top with sliced fruit, granola, chocolate chips or cacao nibs, and a drizzle of honey or agave

Directions:

  1. Blend together banana, dates, peanut butter, cacao powder, and almond milk until desired consistency.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and top with desired toppings.

Popeye’s Protein Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • Large handful of spinach
  • 1 apple, chopped into cubes
  • 2 TBSP of peanut butter
  • Almond milk or milk of choice
  • Top with sliced fruit, granola, chocolate chips or cacao nibs, and a drizzle of honey or agave

Directions:

  1. Blend together banana, spinach, peanut butter, apples, and almond milk until desired consistency.
  2. Transfer to a bowl and top with desired toppings.

Remember smoothies are a terrific way to put your cocktail garden, herb garden, or cheers garden to good use. Adding herbs to your smoothies means your daily drink will be working double-time.
