Wellness Grows When We Care for the Planet — and Each Other
Celebrating Earth Day 2025 with Gratitude, Growth, and Gardens
Dear Gardenuity Friends,
Every garden planted is a step toward a healthier you — and a healthier planet.
As we celebrate Earth Day 2025, I’m reminded of my very first Earth Day memory. I was in third grade, living with my family in Alaska. Our school launched a “Clean Up the City” campaign. For every bag of trash you brought in, you earned a raffle ticket. The prize? A bright yellow Schwinn bike. I really wanted that bike.
I worked hard filling trash bags — and then my mom, in the one and only time she ever helped me bend the rules, saved up trash for weeks to boost my count. On Earth Day, I walked into school with a mountain of bags and even bigger hopes. I didn’t win — Holly Day did — but I won something else entirely.

Albeit I discovered that doing something good for the Earth just feels good. That caring for the planet helps us feel more connected — to our health, our community, and our sense of purpose.
At Gardenuity, we believe those truths still grow strong today. Human health and environmental health are deeply intertwined, and Earth Day is the perfect time to reflect on that connection. This year, we’re proud to be partnering with companies, communities, and families across the country to plant gardens, grow gratitude, and cultivate sustainability — one grow bag at a time.
This year, our Earth Day theme is Plant a Promise — a commitment to growth, to wellness, and to our shared future. With every corporate garden sold during the month of April, Gardenuity is donating a tree through our partnership with One Tree Planted. It’s our way of honoring the power of collective action — because when one person plants a garden and one organization plants a tree, it becomes part of a movement rooted in sustainability and care.
We also celebrate the concept of viriditas — the “greening power” that speaks to both the flourishing of nature and the vibrancy of the human spirit. First expressed by Hildegard of Bingen, viriditas reminds us that when we cultivate life — through gardening, through kindness, through action — we invite growth not only in our gardens, but in ourselves. It’s a powerful reminder that planting a seed is also planting intention, health, and hope.
“As a mom, I’ve always believed the most powerful lessons aren’t spoken — they’re planted.”
— Donna Letier

Whether you’re planting herbs on your patio, microgreens on your desk, or sharing a garden as a gift, you’re helping grow a more sustainable and mindful world.
Let’s grow wellness.
Let’s grow sustainability.
Let’s grow in viriditas — in the flourishing of nature and of ourselves.
Happy Earth Day 2025!
With gratitude,
Donna Letier
