The week between Christmas and New Year’s is always one of my favorite weeks. It’s a time to reflect on the past year, what worked, what needs tweaking, and what big changes need to be made personally and professionally. It’s also a time to put finishing touches on plans for the year ahead. But most importantly it is a time to think about all we have to be grateful for. To think about how we can live and work in a state of grace in 2023.
What I know for sure it’s the time of year to thank those who have been and are a part of our journey. This is our thank you note to our customers, colleagues, partners, and families who have been a part of our growth.
When you think about the phrase “thank you” you learn it actually comes from the word “think”. The Old English noun “thank” dates between c.450 – c.1100 and was defined as a “thought”. According to Merriam-Webster, the expression might read “I will remember what you have done for me.”
January is the start of the new year, but it is also recognized as National Thank You Month.
So, thank you for growing with us, encouraging us, sharing our story, our gardens, and our mission of making gardens and gardening experiences accessible to everyone. You have all been an essential part of our success and are helping to write our story. Each of you have made us better at what we do. Maybe it was through a book or podcast you recommended, a conference you thought we should attend, or introduction to someone or something. We thank those who have mentored us and customers who have inspired us to strive harder, dig deeper, and push further.
The list is long, but we wanted to take a minute to specially call out a few who show us, by their actions, how to grow something really good.
