Happy Labor Day! We’ve had a blast using fresh harvests throughout the season and are ready to send the season off in style this weekend. We’ve curated five divine summer recipes to celebrate summer and all the great harvests we have had from our patio gardens. Plus, they’re perfect Labor Day celebration eats.
Coming from Food52, this avocado toast with fresh herbs and a fried egg is the most divinely crafted toast you’ve ever tasted. It goes into our regular brunch recipe rotation and uses our basil, cilantro, and parsley harvests. Put it on your favorite bread or bagel, and start your day off with a bang!
This recipe is an absolutely delicious way to start your weekend snacking — preferably poolside. If you’re hosting a gathering, these stacks are a great appetizer. Casually gourmet and seriously tasty, your fresh basil harvests shine in these easy to assemble snacks.
Speaking of basil recipes, this summer squash and basil pasta is a luncheon go-to for us. Bon Appétit makes creating complex flavors easy with this simple recipe. With an undeniable fresh and healthy taste, this pasta keeps the end of summer days light and delicious.
This isn’t the kind of salad you think it is. Grilled corn and chiles give this salad a heavy sense of satisfaction with strong Southern flavors. It’s perfect for accompanying barbecue and will quickly become a summer favorite.
We used our freshly harvested summer jalapeños instead of chiles, and it was doubly divine.
Ina Garten never fails to disappoint with her recipes, and this roasted salmon is no exception. Herbaceous, flaky, and fulfilling, it’s the perfect dinner meal to round out your Labor Day weekend. Not too heavy but totally satisfying, it’s a recipe you’ll return to year-round (but works especially well for transitioning into fall!)
