Get ready for Halloween with our herbal-inspired cocktail recipe. This crowd-pleasing margarita, featuring fresh sage and lime, adds a deliciously eerie touch to your festivities.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups tequila

  • 1 cup triple sec (or orange liqueur)

  • 1 ½ cups fresh lime juice

  • 1 cup simple syrup (or agave syrup)

  • 10-12 fresh sage leaves

  • Ice

  • Optional: Black sea salt for rimming glasses

  • Garnish: Lime wheels and extra sage sprigs

Directions

  • Make the Sage Simple Syrup
  • In a small pot, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add 8 fresh sage leaves, remove from heat, and let it steep for 10-15 minutes.
  • Strain and cool the syrup.
  • Mix the Margarita
  • In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and the cooled sage simple syrup.
  • Stir well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Serve the Spooky Margarita
  • Rim glasses with black sea salt for a festive look.
  • Fill glasses with ice and pour in the margarita.
  • Garnish with lime wheels and a fresh sage sprig for an eerie green touch.
