Pistachio Martini Recipe & Helpful Tips

Pistachios and martinis are not two things that you often pair together. But we’re here to tell you that’s a mistake!

Martini lovers will go nuts for this take on an old classic. Traditional vodka gets a boost from limoncello and pistachio liqueur for a classy and refined cocktail that pairs great with your favorite charcuterie board. Added bonus–green pistachios make for an excellent pop of green at your festive holiday parties!

Helpful Tips

Play to your preference on liqueur. This recipe calls for pistachio liqueur, which almost definitely requires a trip to the liquor store. When you’re there, you may notice that you have a clear or a creamier option. Either will go well in this recipe, so buy with your heart. If you would prefer something creamy but can only find clear, you can always add a splash of half-and-half in before shaking.

Give everything a good mince. You’ll really want to finely chop the nuts and mint for the garnish. There is nothing less appealing than trying to crunch on a large chunk of pistachio while also trying to sip a martini.

Chill. Really. Martinis are all about temperature, so make sure that each of your liquids is chilled in the refrigerator before you get started. Add plenty of ice in your cocktail shaker and shake for at least 30 seconds to get things nice and frosty.

Get creative. There are endless variations on this recipe. You could swap a flavored vodka in for regular, add festive garnishes like cranberries or cherries or experiment with pistachio syrup for an extra nutty taste.
