National Margarita Day is February 22, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by mixing up a drink with your favorite tequila. That’s why we’ve partnered with Casamigos to give you some new, exciting, and totally original tequila recipes that you can enjoy on the holiday–and every day of the year!
Gather some limes, some tequila, and, of course, some salt, and let’s get marg-ing!
Spicy Strawberry Basil Margarita
- 1.5 oz. Casamigos Reposado OR Casamigos Blanco Tequila
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- .75 oz simple syrup
- 2 full strawberries OR .25 oz Strawberry Purée by REAL®
- 4 basil leaves
- 2 serrano slices OR 2 dashes Firewater bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s® Bitters
- ½ Thick Rim Equal Parts Salt/Sugar/Tajin®
- Garnish: large basil leaf and serrano slices
How To Make Spicy Strawberry Basil Margarita
- Wet ½ rim of the glass with a lime wheel or wedge, and dip into the salt mixture.
- Combine all ingredients into a tin shaker.
- Muddle fruit/herbs.
- Add ice, shake vigorously, and fine strain into a rimmed rocks glass.
- Add fresh ice and garnish.
Casa Ginger Mint Paloma
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Casamigos Reposado
- 1.5 oz. grapefruit juice
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- .5 oz sugar cane syrup
- .5 oz ginger syrup
- 8-10 mint leaves
How To Make Casa Ginger Mint Paloma
- Combine all ingredients into a tin shaker. Muddle herbs. Add ice.
- Shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds.
- Fine strain into a highball glass. Add fresh ice.
- Garnish with grapefruit wheel and mint sprig.
Humo Verde
Ingredients:
- 1 oz. Casamigos Mezcal
- 1 oz. Casamigos Blanco
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- .75 oz. simple syrup
- 4 basil leaves
- 2 thyme sprigs
- 2 1” slices grilled green poblano peppers
How To Make The Huma Verde
- Combine all ingredients into a tin shaker. Muddle herbs & peppers. Add ice.
- Shake well. Fine strain into a rocks glass.
- Add fresh ice.
- Garnish with a grilled poblano slice and dried thyme.
