This past weekend, more than 200,000 people gathered in Cincinnati for the annual Kroger Wellness Festival — one of the largest celebrations of health and well-being in the country. The energy was contagious, and the conversations were inspiring.
We applaud Kroger , Stevi Carr and the Wise Wellness Guild for creating a festival that puts wellness where it belongs — at the center of community life. From fitness demonstrations to nutrition workshops, expert talks to meaningful conversations, the event reflected a powerful truth: when we care for ourselves, we can better care for the people around us.
Gardenuity was honored to participate by leading Rooted in Wellness gardening experiences. Guests planted their own herb gardens to take home — a simple ritual that serves as a daily reminder of mindfulness, gratitude, and growth.
Why gardening at a wellness festival? Because the benefits go far beyond the garden bed. Research shows that gardening can reduce stress, support mental clarity, encourage healthier eating, and create a sense of connection. At Gardenuity, we believe that growing something green is one of the most joyful, accessible pathways to wellness.
“Wellness can start small: with gratitude, with mindfulness, with something green growing on your patio”
Throughout the festival, we met people from all walks of life who shared their own stories of growth and resilience. We left Cincinnati inspired by the connections made and the commitment Kroger and Wise Wellness Guild are showing to building healthier futures.
Rooted in Wellness isn’t just about planting herbs. It’s about planting the intention to care for yourself and for your community — and that’s exactly what this festival celebrated.
