I love this dried herb salt recipe because it allows me to use my herbs when I am short on time and/or do not have time to cook. The drying of herbs (directions listed below) is fast and easy and allows me to take advantage of a full harvest!

One of the great things about this dried herb salt recipe is how long it lasts!

You can create one batch of this Savory Herb Salt and it can be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months!

This rub is also super easy to create and use!

How To Use the Dried Herb Salt Rub

  1. Brush with Olive Oil

    Lightly brush pork, chicken, lamb, or fish with olive oil.

  2. Spread the Rub

    Sprinkle about 1 T. of herb mixture on the meat and rub in with fingers. 

  3. Let the Rub Soak In

    Let stand for 15 minutes before roasting or grilling.

This Dried Herb Salt Rub is the perfect solution to give any dish more flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup coarse sea salt or kosher salt

  • 2/3 cup dried parsley

  • ¼ cup dried thyme

  • ¼ cup Dried Crushed Rosemary

  • ¼ cup Dried Shredded Lemon Peel

  • 2 Tbsp Garlic Powder

  • 2 Tbsp Finely Crushed Minced Onion

Directions

  • Drying Fresh Herbs:
  • Chop fine and place each herb on microwave safe plate or bowl for 30-60 seconds (depends on the microwave).  Make sure the herbs are chopped fine for best results.
  • Creating the Herb Salt Rub:
  • In a medium bowl stir together the salt, dried herbs, lemon peel, garlic powder and onion.  If desired, the amount of herb salt can be divided into ½ cup glass bottles.
