A Spring Break Cocktail Inspired by the Garden

A Fresh Mint & Jalapeño Garden Spritz

This refreshing mint jalapeño cocktail uses fresh ingredients you can grow in your own garden.

Spring break is a time to slow down, gather with friends, and enjoy the sunshine. Whether you are at home or away it is a time to savor some sunshine and let your mood feel spring refreshed.

It’s also the perfect moment to celebrate something gardeners love — fresh ingredients picked straight from the garden.

This Mint & Jalapeño Garden Spritz combines fresh herbs, citrus, and a hint of spice for a drink that tastes like spring.

Ingredients

• Fresh mint leaves
• 1–2 thin slices of fresh jalapeño
• 1 ounce fresh lime juice
• 1 ounce simple syrup (or honey syrup)
• 2 ounces tequila or vodka
• Sparkling water or club soda
• Ice
• Fresh mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the mint leaves and jalapeño slices to release their flavor.
  2. Add lime juice, simple syrup, and tequila.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
  4. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice.
  5. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a mint sprig.

Why Garden Ingredients Make Cocktails Better

Fresh herbs and peppers bring a brightness to drinks that bottled mixers simply can’t match.

Mint adds a cooling freshness, while jalapeño gives just enough spice to balance the citrus and sweetness.

Grow Pro Tip: Now is the time to plant your mint, it loves cool evenings and days with at least 5 hours of warm sunshine.  Peppers will take a while, if  you are already enjoying daytime temperatures over 75 you are good to  get your peppers planted.

It’s one of the simplest ways to bring your garden into everyday moments of gathering and celebration.
