Cucumbers are known for being refreshing, easy to grow, low in calories, hydrating, and full of nutrients like magnesium, potassium, and vitamin K. They are also a great addition to fresh summer cocktails. The Spruce pulled together an inspiring list of 14 Crisp and Clean cucumber cocktails all worth trying, but our favorite is the Cucumber Smash. It brings together the fresh flavor of cucumbers with fresh herbs, works with your favorite vodka or gin and is easy to make.

Served over crushed ice in a tall glass it just feels like summer.

The cucumber smash recipe can be altered to taste, try adding mint or basil simple syrup or if you like peppers, jalapeno simple syrup is quite tasty and one of our favorite ways to enjoy a summer pepper harvest. Simple syrup is easy to make, here is an easy to follow recipe.

Cucumber cocktails – a great way to bring the garden to your party.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ part gin or vodka

  • ¾ part Elderflower liqueur

  • ½ part simple syrup

  • ½ part lime juice

  • 4 cucumber cubes (¾ inch each)

  • ½ part club soda

  • 2 cucumber slices

Directions

  • Muddle cucumber cubes with lime juice in a mixing glass. Add gin, St-Germain, simple syrup, and ice.
  • Mix well and strain over fresh ice. Top with soda, garnish with cucumber.
  • Enjoy!
