Doug Platt’s 2022 Message – Growth & Wellness

This month is all about Fresh Starts and Favorite Things so each week you will hear from one of the Gardenuity leaders on their favorite ways to go into the New Year with energy, mindfulness, and a sense of fun. We would love to see what is bringing you a fresh perspective on 2022 and what is bringing you joy. We will repost throughout the month, so let’s keep the shared collective momentum growing.

“We are at the start of a New Year that continues to bring unpredictability, uncertainty, and the need to take it one day at a time. But you know what, we have made it through the past two years and we are ready for this. We are stronger, more resilient, and ready to take on whatever 2022 brings! Give yourself a pat on the back or a self-five, and let’s do this!

We don’t need big New Year resolutions shouted from the rooftops, and we don’t need to plan everything out for the year, or have a plan at all! We can plant the seeds for growth (yep I said it!) by just starting out with doing one thing each day to better ourselves, and then building on this as newer, healthier habits start to form – for your mind, body, and community.
Growing together,”

Currently Growing My Mind, Body, Perspective, and Heart.

Mind – Being organized enough to free your mind to wander. Start the year fresh by adopting new habits and tools that allow you to better structure your day and time, so that you can allow yourself to imagine “what next” or “where next”. And who knows where that can take you, both personally and professionally. The book Atomic Habits is a great place to start with understanding how to adopt good habits.. and lose those bad habits as well.

Body – It has been a rough couple of years on our bodies, but where possible find a reason to start your day outside, get some fresh air, and move! Did you know that the best way to get a good night’s sleep starts with being outside in the morning and getting a natural dose of vitamin D from the Sun

Perspective – Use your family, friends, community, and social networks to lift you up, not bring you down. Set yourself goals and surround yourself with people and support that builds momentum for where you want to be and who you want to be – knowing that you will get there when you are meant to be there. You do you!

Heart – Remember to take moments to be present with those around you. Put down your phone, you don’t need that photo, recording, or live stream to create that new memory and share in creating meaningful moments.
