Now that the weather is heating up and we are spending more time in the sweet sunshine, it is time to remind ourselves to stay hydrated. When your body is working hard in the heat, it is easy to quickly become dehydrated without even realizing it. A great way to mitigate this issue is to whip up a tasty beverage that will keep you cool and hydrated all at the same time.
This week, we are bringing you a recipe that is beloved here in Texas: Ranch Water. Mix up your classic Ranch Water tradition with a tart twist from one of our favorite big city nutritionists, Katie Webber. Keep reading to learn how you can make your own today.
Keeping your body hydrated is imperative for healthy mind-body functioning. Not only does staying hydrated make you feel better, but it also prevents infections, improves your mood, and keeps your cognition abilities up to par.
If you often find yourself spending exorbitant amounts of time outside, or doing work that involves profuse sweating, keeping hydrated is especially important for you. The best way to stay hydrated is to drink water, but you can also do so by eating water-rich fruits, drinking tea or drinking a yummy beverage like a virgin Ranch Water. If regular water is not for you, try drinking mineral water, or sparkling water.
