Put basil into a one-quart mason jar. Pour 2 cups canola oil and 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil into a saucepan. Heat to 200° F. Pour the hot oil into the mason jar with your herbs and cover with a towel. Let sit overnight. In the morning, use cheesecloth to strain the oil.

- ¾ cup raw walnuts, finely chopped
- ½ cup fresh basil, tightly packed
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, coarsely chopped
- ¾ cup butter
- 1 ½ cups white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 6 drops oil
- ¼ tsp kosher salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Line an 8×8 brownie tin with parchment paper.
- Place walnuts and basil in a food processor and pulse until a crumbled mixture forms. Set aside.
- In a medium glass bowl, microwave the butter and chocolate at 50% power until the butter has melted — about 3 or 4 minutes. Whisk until chocolate has melted. Then stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange oil, salt, and the walnut basil mixture. Gradually add flour and stir until just combined.
- Spread batter into the prepared brownie pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Do not over bake. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
