Super Heroes All Around Us | The Superheroes In Our Life
We all have superheroes in our lives, whether it’s our parents, beloved teachers, or front-line healthcare professionals who are working hard to keep us thriving and safe every day. In uncertain times like these, the old maxim remains true; we need our superheroes to eat their veggies so they can remain strong and healthy!
The arrival of the holiday season brings with it the perfect opportunity to give back, and say thank you to the ones who are supporting your community. In celebration of giving the gift of growth, we’ve taken some time to talk to our team here at Gardenuity about who their super heroes are, and why they are so important. Keep reading to learn more.
Why Celebrate Your Heroes?
At Gardenuity, we emphasize the impact of growing with gratitude every single day; we believe that gardening gives you the opportunity to experience clarity alongside a deep gratitude for all that we have, and all that we can do. We certainly do not take for granted that gratitude has the power to entirely shape one’s life!
This year, we encourage you to take the extra time to celebrate those in your life who are always there for you – those who are constantly going the extra mile to ensure that you have everything you need in order to flourish. This year, give the gift of growing good with our specially curated Super Hero Garden; created for the hero who never gives up on you.
We are so excited for this opportunity to share more about our Team’s extraordinary super heroes. You never know – you could be acting as someone’s super hero at this very moment. Never underestimate the power of acting with kindness and compassion.

“My super hero is my husband Steve. He enables me to be an entrepreneur by being the frontline of our home. He takes care of me in all ways including feeding me delicious food from his garden, and he is constantly on call for many of our neighbors and friends. Caring for many is just what he does.”
Donna
“I believe there are super heroes all around us every day; they’re so very evident, if we pause long enough to notice. There are super hero teachers, nurses, doctors, caregivers, parents, grocery store staff, the list goes on. When you really stop to think about how many super heroes you encounter every single day, the list is overwhelmingly vast – and that is amazing.”
“Madison, my oldest, is one of my super heroes. She is Jillian’s biggest fan, the first to push her forward and to catch her when needed. Siblings of those with special needs are touched by compassion, generosity, grit and faith. They see the world through a different lens and along with their brother or sister can and do change the world. To me, Madison is funny, smart, sassy, competitive, and driven. To Jillian, she is just “La La”, a lifeline to all that is possible. For the love she shows Jillian every day, she is my super hero.”

“I view my younger brother as a super hero in my life. He has had to overcome multiple challenges throughout his life and has done so with grace, faith, and humor. He is one of the smartest and funniest people I’ve ever known, and I’m lucky to have him in my life.”
Doug
“I married into a family and extended family of nurses, nurse practitioners, firefighters, and police officers; the challenges of 2020 have been something they have stepped up to deal with every single day thus far. Keeping people safe, getting them to medical aid, and helping them through this year in every way they can. This year has been more unforgiving on their roles than the vast majority of us, as they have had to deal with the mental and physical stress of helping people live, and supporting them as they die. My mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law are my super heroes.”
Ellie
“My super heroes are my parents because they are always pushing me to be the best version of myself, and they always support me in everything I do.”
Beth
“My superheroes come in all ages, shapes, sizes and colors. You might not always recognize them at first or be able to tell by the clothes they wear. Sometimes they are hidden in plain sight.”
“My superheroes are the special needs population. They have to be able to use their super powers to make it through each day. Their powers are different depending on their abilities and can take place behind closed doors. It can be as simple as trying to put a spoon to their mouth to eat, using their hands to speak, navigating a wheelchair for mobility, communicating with a device to express emotions or blinking with eyelashes. If you’re lucky enough to meet one of these superheroes or have one in your family, consider yourself fortunate. They will change your life.”

“I have a few heroes in my life, but lately I have been thinking about all of my friends who are mothers. I look up to my friends who are moms; working moms, moms on the frontlines, moms in full-time nursing school, homeschooling moms, moms who run the show at home and support everyone in their family each and every day. I think about all that they do and accomplish and it reminds me of how awesome and strong women are!”
