You haven’t had the perfect cup of tea until you have blended it yourself.
It can be easy to reach for a pre-packaged tea bag when stressed. And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, making your own herbal tea blend can take your cup to the next level. For those who are interested in checking it out, take a look at our fail-proof formula.
Start with a base tea. We like to start off with a base tea, typically black, green or white tea leaves, to round out the flavors of the cup. This will help it taste more like a regular tea bag and less like something you picked up at an 18th century apothecary.
Use garden-grown ingredients. We love incorporating our garden-grown herbs into our blends. Try drying out lemon balm, lavender or mint, or, if you’re in a hurry, throw them in fresh.
Watch the caffeine. Emphasis on the “soothing” aspect of the herbal tea. You are more than allowed to go full-caff, but oftentimes, increased caffeine can lead to increased anxiety.
Get creative. This is endlessly riffable. Try different herbs, spices, base teas or even funky ingredients like orange peel and crushed cinnamon sticks. So many possibilities.
