Healing isn’t only about medicine. Healing is also about the people who show up for us — the ones who sit beside us, bring laughter into heavy days, or simply remind us that we’re not alone.
This past weekend, we launched Growing Hope, and the stories you shared moved us more than we can say. Each story was a reminder of the extraordinary impact of ordinary acts of love.
One of you told us about your sister, who left her own family every Friday to drive three hours each way, just so she could sit with you during treatments. Sometimes you laughed, sometimes you cried, and sometimes you simply shared the silence together.
Another story came from someone whose colleague — not even a close friend at the time — showed up week after week, leaving dinner at the door with a sticky note that read, “You’ve got this.”
And one of you told us about your partner, who shaved his head the day you lost your hair, so you would never feel alone in that moment.
I, too, know what it means to have hope delivered through the presence of others. As a mom of a child who has spent months in the hospital, I was blessed with friends who sat beside me hour after hour, day after day, as we navigated Jillian’s diagnosis and treatments. Their presence gave me strength. It was in their laughter, their quiet conversations, their simple willingness to just be there that I found hope. I will forever be grateful. These small acts of love remind us that hope isn’t abstract. It grows in the presence of people who care.
What Does Hope Mean?
Hope is the expectation and desire for a positive outcome, even in the face of uncertainty. Psychologists often describe it as a blend of optimism, motivation, and belief that tomorrow can be better than today. Hope is the light that flickers even in our darkest moments, reminding us we’re not alone.
Interestingly, hope is both a noun and a verb.
This dual meaning is what makes hope so powerful: it is both the feeling we hold and the action we take.
Growing Hope was created as a way to honor those people who stand beside us.
This limited-edition program features two white wax amaryllis bulbs for $85 — one for you to enjoy, and one to gift to the person who gave you hope when you needed it most.
Why white wax? White is a symbol of light, strength, and renewal. The pink blooms stand tall, resilient, and radiant — just like the people who bring us courage. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the perfect time to say thank you with a white wax bulb that will bloom beautiful pink flowers.
Science tells us that gratitude improves our mental wellness, strengthens resilience, and even supports physical healing. Watching something bloom reinforces optimism and patience — each day bringing a small change, each week a new reminder that life continues to unfold with beauty.
Growing Hope brings gratitude and growth together in one simple gesture: a living gift that carries the message, “You gave me hope, and now I want to honor you.”
We invite you to join us in this movement of gratitude. With each set of bulbs, you’ll experience the joy of watching your own amaryllis bloom — and the deeper joy of gifting one to the person who brought you light when you needed it most.
Growing Hope is more than a program. It’s a community rooted in gratitude, resilience, and love. Each bloom is a reminder that even in the hardest moments, hope grows when we show up for one another.

That is the heart of Growing Hope. Each limited-edition set includes two white wax amaryllis bulbs ($85): one for you to enjoy, and one to gift to the person who gave you hope when you needed it most. And in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, $25 from every set will be donated to organizations advancing breast cancer awareness and support, including Susan G. Komen®.
What does the white amaryllis symbolize?
Amaryllis flowers symbolize light, strength, and renewal — qualities that mirror the resilience of those who stand beside us through life’s hardest journeys.
Why are there two bulbs in the Growing Hope set?
The program was designed around gratitude. One bulb is for you to enjoy, and the second is for you to gift to someone who gave you hope when you needed it most.
How do wax-dipped amaryllis bulbs grow?
Wax-dipped amaryllis bulbs are self-contained — no soil, water, or pot needed. The wax seals in all the nutrients the bulb needs to bloom. Simply place it in a bright spot, and within weeks, tall stems and brilliant flowers will appear.
