Growing Everyday – A Letter From Donna Letier CEO of Gardenuity

In the blink of an eye, we are into August, the month that is full of change and anticipation. For me it feels like a beginning and end at the same time – a hiatus before our next chapter.  August 1 marks the midpoint between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox.  August is also National Wellness Month, a month that encourages us to prioritize selfcare, take microsteps towards managing stress, and put healthy routines into place for us and those who depend on us.

Well-being is not a one-time event. It is not a destination but a journey. It’s an ongoing practice of small, daily habits that help us to be more productive, to feel better, healthier and happier. Putting our own well-being on the “I will start that tomorrow” because I have deadlines, family obligations and other stressors can catch up to you. National Wellness Month was born out of the knowledge that if we are going to accomplish big things – we need to take care of ourselves.

August is the time to slow down, allowing our brain to do the maintenance it needs.  In today’s 24/7 world, we rarely slow down and the “always on mentality” can have an effect on our health and well-being.

That’s where GARDENUITY comes in:  our gardens and gardening experiences invite you to get a little dirty and to nurture nature through microsteps that can become macro changes in your life.

So, whether you are looking to add a desktop garden to your “back to school” work space, bring a gardening event to your colleagues, or plant a fall patio garden full of seasonal favorites, we are ready to get you growing. We invite you to “live into August” with ease and a true appreciation for slowing down and savoring the season.

What are your favorite things to complete and start in August?  Email me at Donna@gardenuity.com and let me know.

Until then, I will be in the garden, getting dirty for good.
