Fruit Salad With Mint

There’s nothing better than a fresh summer fruit salad–that is until you add a handful of fresh herbs into the mix. 

For those looking to take a normal dish to the next level, look no further than this fruity-minty salad, which makes the most of summer ingredients while still feeling nostalgic. It’s the perfect addition to your next cookout, pool day or hot summer dinner al fresco. 

Helpful Hints

Pick the fruits that make you happy. We chose bright, colorful summer fruits for the official recipe, but that’s not to say that you can’t use your favorites instead. 

Shapes can make all the difference. If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, try shaping your fruits with a cookie cutter instead of a melon baller. Stars would be particularly cute for Memorial Day!

Wait until the last minute. This will taste best if it is thrown together right before it is set to be enjoyed. That said, it can also chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving if need be. 

Get creative. Aside from fruits and shapes, you could try experimenting with different herbs (basil would be yummy!) or citrus (limes or Meyer lemons come to mind) in this recipe.

Fruit medley with flavorful mint herbs!

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups strawberries, quartered

  • 1 cup blueberries

  • ½ large watermelon, balled

  • 1 cantaloupe, balled

  • 2 Tbsp. fresh-squeezed lemon juice

  • 2 Tbsp. fresh chopped mint

Directions

  • Place all fruit into a large bowl. Cover with lemon juice and sprinkle with mint. Toss to combine. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
