5 Decadent Holiday Salad Recipes

Move the ham, mashed potatoes, and cornbread out of the way and make some room for the holiday salads. As much as we love all of the delicious decadence of our favorite holiday dishes, a leafy green or two wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Here are our five favorite holiday salads to add a little bit of fresh greens to your table…

Kale Salad with Apples and Toasted Almonds

Kale salad with dried cranberry, almonds and apple

Kale takes the stage with this perfectly balanced salad loaded with creamy feta, crunchy toasted almonds, crisp and bright apples, as well as tart-dried cherries. This salad will leave your taste buds tingling and satisfy every texture you need.

Best-Ever Farro Salad

Vegetarians at the table, rejoice! This farro salad is packed with goodies like cheese, nuts, fruit, and greens to create a bountiful bowl bursting with flavor and texture. This salad can be served as a side, as well as serve as a larger main course option for those desiring a lighter or healthier option for their holiday meal.

Pear Salad

Pear is one of the most underrated fruits, in our opinion. This pear salad is elegant, yet simple and will compliment almost any lineup of ingredients and palettes. Give a crisp crunch to your salads with nuts and pear for the perfect pairing.

Roasted Beet Goat Cheese Salad

Goat cheese and beets go together like peanut butter and jelly. The mighty beet is a delicious and gorgeous purple root vegetable that has become quite popular over the past several years. This beet salad paired with goat cheese, avocado, and walnuts create a divine and rich salad that makes any meal a little bit more magical.

Brussels Sprout Salad

Fried brussels sprouts salad with quinoa, cranberries and nuts in a white bowl. Healthy vegan food concept.

Brussels sprouts have had quite the comeback within the past few years, but the same old balsamic glazed brussels with bacon are getting a little old. Give your brussels a makeover with this fresh salad complete with pomegranate and almonds for an extra stuffing of seasonal sensations.

Whatever is on your table this holiday season, we hope you add some color into the mix with one of these gorgeous greens. For more recipes and salad inspiration, check out our blog The Sage for some delicious details!
