Mother’s Day Message from Donna, Co-Founder Gardenuity

“I grew that” sounds good in any language and whatever you’re referring to a garden, business, or bank account. It’s especially satisfying when you are talking about your own children.

I love looking across the table at my children and having that “I grew that” moment. I love being a mom. It’s a humbling job, full of constant prayers, and you h that you hope that you get it right, at least most of the time. When you’re a mom, every single day is different.

As my Godmother Bitsey said once, “A mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child.” And that’s been so true for me. There is no single roadmap for the job of mothering — yet it is one of the most important jobs there is.

Can you imagine what a job description would look like for the job of Mother?

“President, Chief Children Officer, Creative Director, Security Officer and Operational Manager.”

Looking for a candidate that will transform the life experience of each new addition to the team, while supporting our mission of faith, fun, patriotism, and service to others. Candidates must also fulfill the role of strategic, creative, loving and nimble President to own and build the foundation of all children’s future success. This role will lead family functions including operations, culture, engagement, education, personal development, and security. The ideal candidate has a creative mindset, an aptitude for always learning new things, a sense of humor, a never-ending spin, and more love than they know what to do with. This role reports to God, will work closely with co-parents, and is based anywhere the family resides.

As a brand that values inclusion, faith, service to others and a keen sense of humor, we are seeking individuals of all backgrounds and experiences to apply for this position.

What You’ll Do:

(It changes daily and sometimes hourly so flexibility is a must).

• Organizational design. You will develop scalable systems to advise children from birth to adulthood across the world’s design, competency, leadership development, performance measurement, succession planning, and change management.
• Culture and engagement. You will define the course of education and drive the development of key values for each child.
• Learning development and stewardship to others. Instill these principles in each child.
• Total rewards. Must be ok with compensation coming in hugs and acts of appreciation from time to time. As the children evolve from babies to young adults you must be flexible in creating creative rewards programs, being self-motivated at all times.

• Data-driven and goal-oriented: you measure success both quantitatively and qualitatively and understand the importance of both.

• Ability to work well under pressure and challenge the status quo daily believing there is always a way to improve.

• Able to execute on today’s challenges while maintaining a forward-thinking long-term mindset.

How many people would actively apply, with confidence for the job?

What seems daunting is also the most rewarding job in the world. My mother nurtured me, and now I get to nurture my girls. What a beautiful thing to pass on to the next generation!
