“I grew that” sounds good in any language and whatever you’re referring to a garden, business, or bank account. It’s especially satisfying when you are talking about your own children.
I love looking across the table at my children and having that “I grew that” moment. I love being a mom. It’s a humbling job, full of constant prayers, and you h that you hope that you get it right, at least most of the time. When you’re a mom, every single day is different.
As my Godmother Bitsey said once, “A mother is only as happy as her unhappiest child.” And that’s been so true for me. There is no single roadmap for the job of mothering — yet it is one of the most important jobs there is.

What seems daunting is also the most rewarding job in the world. My mother nurtured me, and now I get to nurture my girls. What a beautiful thing to pass on to the next generation!
To nurture and let yourself be nurtured is one of life’s greatest blessings.
So on this Mother’s Day, if you are fortunate enough to still have your mom around, love her, nurture her, and tell her that she did a good job growing you.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, mamas, mommies and mothers! On days that are hard, remember you are growing something incredible; remember how remarkable it is to be able to say with deep love, “I Grew That.”
Madison and Jillian, it is amazing to be your mom. Thank you for the challenges, the constant job reviews, and for the opportunity to say, “I Grew That”.
Growing together,
Donna
